Photos from San Diego Comic-Con 2004:
I'd never been to a comic book convention before, so why not start with the biggest one in the world. My friends and I went down on Saturday. The pictures below only show some of the highlight of the spectacle.
A large sculpture just outside the convention center.
Approaching the convention through San Diego's Gaslamp District.
Official poster of the Comic-Con as seen through the hallways of the convention center.
Boba Fett mugs for the camera.
Shot of the crowd as we entered the convention.
The three artists (Sergio Aragonés, Jeff Smith, and Scott Shaw!) chat after the Quick Draw Event.
Several people from the Batman pantheon pose together.
Hey, don't ask me. I thought it was funny.
A diorama of Endor at the Lego booth. Amazing!
OK, she was manning the Lego booth, so she had corporate sponsorship for her costume. But still one of the finest looking costumes at the show.
Flaming Carrot.
Hell Boy.
Homer Simpson.
A Klingon. I later saw this guy stepping on someone's head, shouting out quite loudly in Klingon.
Lord of the Rings character... Aragon, I assume.
Lou Ferigno still looks quite young.
Matt Groening.
Megaman.
I'm just a bill from Schoolhouse Rocks.
She-Ra, another corporate costume.
Several folks dressed up in Star Wars garb.
Most quality Star Wars costumes
Someone dressed as the Ugly Doll Wage. She was pretty funny waddling around and knocking down Jedi.
